Word Press Photo Awards 2014 (Winners)

La fondation World Press Photo vient d’annoncer les vainqueurs de son concours annuel dédié à la photographie de presse. Plus de 5700 photographes ont ainsi participé à l’exercice 2013, soumettant au jury près de 100 000 images. Répartis par catégories (Contemporary Issues, Portraits, Daily Life, Sports, Nature,…), les clichés témoignent de l’évolution et des nouveaux accents du photo-journalisme. Comme chaque année, ils seront exposés aux quatre coins du globe tandis que la cérémonie de remise des prix investira la ville d’Amsterdam les 24 et 25 avril 2014. Enfin, signalons que John Stanmeyer a remporté la World Press Photo of the Year et qu’au sein des reportages récompensés, on retrouve la série « Condemned: Mental Health in African Countries in Crisis » de Robin Hammond ainsi que l’épreuve de Taslima Akhter déjà retenue par TIME dans sa sélection « The Most Surprising Photos of 2013 ». Découvrez à la suite une vingtaine de photographies choisies parmi les image primées.
